The Yamagata Challenge will feature two courses from Honokohau Harbor to Keauhou Bay. The 10-mile Short Course will go straight to Keauhou and the 14-mile Long Course will first go to Kohanaiki then to Keauhou Bay. Check-in is from 7:30 to 8:30 am in the HIPA Halau at the Harbor. Race meeting at 8:30, start is at 9:00. Racers can drop their canoes at the harbor, then park at Keauhou, and a shuttle van will ferry paddlers from Keauhou to the harbor at 7:30.
Register and payment online 24 hours in advance, registration closes April 14th at 9AM.
Canoes must have numbers on the both sides of the bow. Paddlers without a number will be assigned one, which they can pick up at check-in. Paddlers that have been assigned a previous temporary number should register with and reuse that number.
Paddlers on an OC2 must each register.
Race results will be posted on HIPA WebScorer page. There will be a gathering after the race at Keauhou Canoe Club.
